Jeremy Spencer – le batteur de Five Finger Death Punch – quitte officiellement le groupe pour des raisons médicales. En effet, après une double opération du dos, le batteur se voit contraint de prendre congé, afin de récupérer et se reposer longuement. Il s’agit d’un choix mûrement réfléchi, le musicien ne se voyait pas objectivement réaliser des performances aussi bonnes qu’auparavant. Ses confrères le soutiennent entièrement dans sa décision.
This decision has been weighing on me for months, and now the time has finally come. I started to play when I was six years old, and I feel fortunate that my body has provided me with several decades of doing what I love most : drumming. However, the rigorous physical wear and tear has got me to the point where I feel I can no longer deliver a performance that brings me satisfaction and joy. I feel the band deserves to get someone with the fire and energy, capable of delivering the performance that the fans deserve. Like you, I will be cheering them on to continue making great music as they tour the world and bring exciting shows to all our cherished fans.
Charlie Engen a assuré les performances live lors de la dernière tournée du groupe avec Breaking Benjamin, et en entendant ce dont il est capable, nul doute que Five Finger Death Punch saura lui faire confiance dans d’autres circonstances. Du moins, nous l’espérons pour lui, ce serait amplement mérité.
