Le groupe de Metalcore américain Zao vient de publier un nouveau single intitulé Transmission 1 : I Saw The End. Il fait partie intégrante d’un nouvel EP du nom de Decoding Transmissions From The Möbius Strip, qui sera disponible le 1er février 2019 en version vinyle, et le 8 février en version digitale.
La chanson est très dynamique et vraiment intéressante. Elle est accompagnée d’un clip vidéo plein de couleur et très “punchy”, qui souligne le dynamisme du morceau.
Selon le batteur Jeff Gretz, il ne s’agit pas de l’opus le plus lourd jamais réalisé par le groupe. Il aura la particularité de regrouper des moments calmes et d’autres plus dynamiques, des passages longs et d’autres plus courts. Le musicien explique que cette sortie servira de transition pour le groupe. Elle l’accompagnera dans sa nouvelle direction. Message pour le moins énigmatique, mais nous avons hâte d’entendre ce que ça donne.
This 7” is from a new batch of songs that were in consideration for the next record, but also we feel act as a good transition in terms of where we are heading. A lot of bands will say their next album is the ‘heaviest’ or whatever. I am not going to claim that. I will say it has the most space and gets a little more cinematic in scope. There are also a LOT of calm moments. But it’s going to be long. The songs are longer and we aren’t afraid to sit back and let things play out. One of the tracks almost hits the ten-minute mark. This 7” doesn’t really give the whole thing away but it hints at stuff.
