Dans le cadre d’une récente interview pour PureGrainAudio, John Petrucci, le guitariste de Dream Theater, a révélé que le groupe prévoit d’enregistrer un live pour les 20 ans de Metropolis Part 2 : Scenes From A Memory.
En effet, les musiciens travaillent dur sur leurs performances live. La tournée des 20 ans de Scenes From A Memory n’a rien a voir avec la première qui a eu lieu lorsque l’album est sorti. Le groupe a amélioré l’expérience en y ajoutant des visuels divers afin de souligner le poids de l’histoire.
We put a lot of work as we always do into the production side so that the show becomes more than just about the songs, but about the experience. We want people to have a very stimulating visual experience. We try to do something new. This ‘Scenes’ show we’re doing is nothing like the original tour we did 20 years ago. This has all new animated content, really depicting the story. That’s what we try to do. Every time we go out, we try to do something fresh and unique, especially for people who have seen the band multiple times.
Lorsque que le présentateur demande à John Petrucci si le groupe compte enregistrer une de ses performances live, le guitariste répond que c’est prévu mais qu’il faut encore choisir l’endroit où le concert sera filmé.
Un nouveau DVD live de Dream Theater est donc prévu. Voilà de quoi régaler les fans du légendaire groupe de Metal Progressif.
Yeah. We will eventually and we’re talking about where to do that. We have a long world tour ahead of us. There’s going to be a lot of locations. Toronto would have been really cool, but we’ll [decide] that later in the tour for sure.
