Mike Shinoda, le leader du célèbre groupe de Rock Alternatif/Nu Metal, annonce que Linkin Park va peut-être continuer avec un nouveau chanteur. C’était dans le cadre d’une récente interview pour Rock Antenne que le musicien s’est exprimé à propos du futur du groupe.
Mike a des concerts solos en Europe courant mars, mais autrement il n’a pas d’autre chose de prévu pour 2019. Il explique que cela sera propice à une réunion des membres de Linkin Park, afin de discuter de l’avenir du groupe.
I don’t know. Right now, I’m very flexible. These shows are the only shows that I’ve planned so far. I don’t have any other tours planned. So I’m keeping things open right now to experiences and conversations. And I’m writing all the time. I’ve been getting in the studio and writing with some other people too — producing for other people and writing for other people. I see the other guys here and there — not all together usually. Usually it’s just one on one. But I’m sure we’re gonna get together soon and just hang out — hang out and see what’s up.
Lors de l’interview, la question fatidique a été posée : Est-ce que Linkin Park se voit continuer avec un nouveau chanteur ? M. Shinoda répond que pour l’instant ce n’est pas le plan. Néanmoins, il n’élimine pas la possibilité. Il aimerait que cela se fasse de manière naturelle, trouver une personne qui a une bonne personnalité et un style qui colle avec le groupe. L’idée n’est pas de remplacer Chester Bennington, mais plutôt de trouver quelqu’un capable de faire avancer le groupe.
That’s not my goal right now. I think it has to happen naturally. And if we find somebody that’s a great person that we think is a good personality fit and a good stylistic fit, then I could see trying to do some stuff with somebody. Not for the sake of replacing… I wouldn’t wanna ever feel like we were replacing Chester.
