Le groupe de Metal Progressif allemand The Ocean a publié son dernier album Phanerozoic I : Palaezoic le 2 novembre 2018 via Metal Blade Records. Pour autant, le groupe poursuit la promotion autour de cet opus et vient de partager un nouveau clip pour la chanson Permian: The Great Dying.
Ce nouveau clip, d’une durée de plus de neuf minutes, est très bien réalisé. Peu d’effets spéciaux sont ajoutés, l’objectif est d’apporter aux auditeurs une expérience très simple et authentique. Pour information, la vidéo a principalement été tournée en Inde et en Indonésie par le producteur Craig Murray, qui avait déjà collaboré avec le groupe pour le clip de Cambrian II: Eternal Recurrence.
While the first clip was very artsy, based on strong visual effects, intense colors and lots of post-production, Permian was meant to have a desaturated, natural look and get by almost entirely without effects. We wanted it to have a dry, suffocating grade, with nice grain and a very authentic, stripped-to-the-core feel.
