Iron Maiden et la brasserie Robinsons fabriquent actuellement 6 bières : la Trooper Nitro, la Trooper 666, la Red ‘N’ Black, la Hallowed et la Light Brigade. Mais cela ne leur suffit pas. En effet, les deux collaborateurs se lancent dans la fabrication d’une nouvelle bière infusée au saké intitulée Sun And Steel.
Le saké utilisé pour cette bière provient d’Okunomatsu, une brasserie spécialisée dans le saké, localisée à Fukushima, au Japon. Cette dernière appartient à George Yusa, un grand fan d’Iron Maiden. En outre, le nom vient de la chanson Sun And Steel, qui traite de la vie du samouraï Miyamoto Musashi. Bien choisi.
This has been such an exciting project. I had a crazy idea to try and make a sake infused lager and over two and a half years later, here we are! I know Martyn Weeks and the team at Robinsons have had to become mad scientists to make this work, but the end result is a really unique hybrid beer that tastes fantastic.
