Vous êtes-vous déjà demandé comment les différents artistes de la communauté Metal & Rock se situent les uns par rapport aux autres en termes de visionnage sur YouTube, de streams Spotify & Apple, de ventes d’albums et d’autres indicateurs ?
Stream N’ Destroy est une newsletter qui présente toutes ces choses et bien plus encore. Compilée par le journaliste et manager Ryan J. Downey, Stream N’ Destroy, qui est publiée deux fois par semaine, a rapidement gagné en popularité ces derniers mois.
En utilisant les infos de Stream N’ Destroy, nous nous sommes penchés sur le classement des albums Metal d’Apple Music ces derniers temps. Et, sans surprise, une petite poignée de groupes domine complètement le classement.
Si l’on regarde le Top 100 de ce classement, cinq groupes seulement dominent 41% des albums classés : Metallica (12), Five Finger Death Punch (10), Black Sabbath (7), Slipknot (6) et Tool (6). Si l’on descend dans le Top 50, ces cinq mêmes groupes occupent 35 places, soit 70%. Et si l’on se concentre sur le Top 25, les mêmes groupes représentent près de 100% du classement, avec la seule exception, Ozzy Osbourne, qui a manifestement un lien étroit avec l’un des groupes susmentionnés.
Cependant, on peut remarquer quelques groupes plus petits qui font de bons chiffres, et du sang neuf, sous la forme d’Erra, Currents, Wage War, Polaris, Alpha Wolf, ou encore les français de Landmvrks !
